Killarney Provincial Park
CA
Camping: George Lake Campground is open for camping all year. The main gates are closed during the snowy season and the campground and yurts become “walk in” from approximately the end of November to the beginning of May. Campground D – sites #82 to #113 including the East Beach are radio-free. Camp Cabins are located in Campground B secluded from the rest of the campground. Yurts are found in their own private location in Campground A. Visitors can park in a nearby lot and use the available wagons to bring their gear to the site. Killarney has 184 backcountry canoe-in sites and 34 backcountry hike-in sites. Winter camping in the backcountry is available, however camping on existing summer campsites is prohibited. This is to protect the campsites from negative impacts that winter camping can cause. Winter campsites should be 30 metres from the shoreline of lakes, portages, and trails. Sheltered areas near small bays and smaller interior lakes are recommended for winter campsites. Day-Use: Killarney’s diverse landscapes provide outstanding hiking opportunities and are a stunning backdrop for canoeing, skiing, and snowshoeing. One moment you’ll be standing high on a ridge overlooking a valley of hardwood forest, the next you’ll be meandering along a small lake nestled into the white quartzite. Hike a bit further and you’ll be surrounded by lush vegetation, or maybe even crossing a beaver dam along the trail.
