Missinaibi offers day use, car camping, and backcountry camping. Missinaibi Lake offers endless opportunities for exploration. Activities include boating, kayaking, world-class fishing, touring three Indigenous pictograph sites, a centuries-old Hudson’s Bay Company trading post site, and an abandoned logging camp. The historic sites are all accessible by water. Located on the shore of Missinaibi Lake, the Barclay Bay Campground has 36 non-electrical campsites. There are vault privies and water taps, as well as an extensive dock system, boat launch, and fish cleaning house. The interior of the park offers 20 backcountry campsites, accessible only by boat, canoe, or kayak. These sites offer a tent pad, picnic tables, and fire rings. The magnificent Missinaibi River flows northward from Missinaibi Lake, 426 kms to the Moose River, which flows into James Bay. The Missinaibi River is remote and challenging and is recommended for experienced canoeists only. There are designated campsites along the river and portages around most rapids.
